The Lost Sheep, A Tale of the Little Sheep Mascot

The cute sheep doll you see in this picture was made with love by our resilient young survivors who received support from LIFT. These strong individuals are currently getting care and support from our partner, Ban San Rak. These sheep are just like other handmade ones, each with unique details. They're crafted to have individual personalities and different needs, just like we all do.

Producing this sheep mascot was not the result of an official vocational program, but rather voluntary work from these young ladies for LIFT’s partners who visited us in 2013. The profits from this craft became their pocket money for empowerment activities during the year-end trip.

Why the sheep

Sheeps are beings that need care and protection. Thus, a good shepherd is one that cares for his flock. They also symbolise New Zealand, where LIFT originated and where these sheep are commonly seen. When we think about LIFT's mission, it's a powerful reminder of what matters most to us: safeguarding people's lives from human trafficking.

LIFT has evolved from a focus on investigation and analysis to actively combating human trafficking crimes. In the last decade, our journey has underscored the crucial importance of prioritising the protection and support of victims. This has reshaped our mission to be more uplifting and results-driven.

Our primary goal is to secure freedom for survivors through the pursuit of justice. We provide tailored support for prosecution and address various needs during their recovery. Our team ensures the safety of survivors above any achievement that could jeopardise their future upon reintegrating into society. Any success that poses a risk to the well-being of survivors is considered unworthy, as it undermines the meaningfulness of our missions.

Looking back at my life, I can’t imagine what my life would be if we hadn’t met. Many people are in the same situation I was. I’m really thankful that you found me and gave me a chance for a new life.

Join us to celebrate justice and become a protector of LIFT’s mission?

Since 2011, LIFT has helped more than 800 vulnerable lives, akin to sheep unable to shield themselves from sexual abuse and exploitation. Survivors have received legal assistance, secured justice and compensation exceeding USD 802,000. Additionally, our efforts led to the arrest of 386 offenders, resulting in a total prison sentence of 3,627 years for those held accountable for their crimes.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Division's database, has compiled statistics on survivors in Thailand as of December 26, 2023, revealing a total of 484 individuals who have been identified. Notably,12% of these survivors received assistance through the collaborative efforts of LIFT and its partners. This current reality has the potential for positive change, ensuring increased support for individuals in the future. Extend your helping hands and join LIFT's mission to protect vulnerable lives from the risks of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
